MISSIONARY VISIT ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4TH

Kurt and Christine Bekins will be visiting North Shore next Sunday, December 4th to share about their calling to Croatia.  Christine is the niece of Beth Horvath and Joelle Mueller.  She and Kurt met at Moody Bible Institute, and they are now being called to Croatia to help establish and equip healthy multiplying churches .  Their prayer is that God would raise up Croatians to faithfully preach and teach the Word to the next generation.  Please join us during the 9:00 am Sunday School hour to hear from them!

CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Celebrate Recovery is a 12 step program meeting Thursday nights at 6:30 pm (large group) & 7:30 pm (optional small group) that helps those who struggle with habits such as alcoholism, divorce, abuses of all kinds, co-dependency, domestic violence, rage, drug addiction, mental health, sexual addiction, food addictions, physical struggles or disease, death of a loved one and more. As we grow spiritually and we are freed from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits we develop a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ and others.

LADIES' ADVENT LUNCHEON ON DECEMBER 3RD!

Ladies: The Women’s Advent Luncheon, Saturday, December 3rd from 11 am to 1 pm is a wonderful opportunity to hear encouraging music by Barb Akins and Libby Johnson, and absorb God’s message from Trish Propson that “The Answer Is Yes”. Make your reservations ($11) today and be prepared for a delicious meal, elegant surroundings and surprises. The absolute deadline for accepting reservations is Tuesday, November 29th. Men: You look so handsome in white shirts and dark pants as you spend an hour making the ladies feel pampered by serving the Advent luncheon. Please sign at the Advent Table today.

LADIES' ADVENT LUNCHEON ON DECEMBER 3RD

Ladies: Set the tone for the Christmas season by giving your friends and neighbors the opportunity to join you for the Women’s Advent Luncheon Saturday, December 3rd from 11 am to 1 pm. Prepaid reservations ($11) are essential. You’ll enjoy the music of Barb Akins on the violin and Libby Johnson on the piano, and hear the truth from God’s Word (and speaker Trish Propson) that “The Answer Is Yes.” Stop at the Advent table in the foyer on Sunday, or contact the church office.

Men: Sign as a Waiter for the Luncheon. Under two hours of your time is all that is needed and then you can add “server” to your employment resume.




SCHEDULE CHANGES

Please note that the church office will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th and Friday, November 25th.  Additionally, Kairos and Sporos youth groups and Financial Peace will NOT be held on Wednesday, November 23rd.  We hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving celebration!

HYMN SING & PIE SOCIAL THIS WEDNESDAY

Come join us for a pre-Thanksgiving celebration this coming Wednesday, November 23rd at 6:00 pm!  We will be starting with a hymn sing, followed by a pie social.  If you are able to attend and can bring a pie to contribute, please sign up at the Welcome Center this coming Sunday, or contact the church office.

CREATOR'S HANDS THIS TUESDAY

If you have crafty skills that you would like to use as an outreach to our local community or don't have any but would like to learn, Creator’s Hands would love for you to join them this Tuesday, November 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the downstairs dining room.

"THE INSANITY OF GOD" FILM AT FAITH BAPTIST

Faith Baptist will be showing the film, "The Insanity of God," which is a true story of faith and persecution, this Sunday, November 13th at 6:00 pm.  Admission is free, so bring your family and friends and come see this awesome film!  For more information on the film, check out www.insanityofgodmovie.com.

FITNESS CLASS CHANGES

Kristine Aretz is out of town and will be through this week.  This Saturday's Zumba class (November 12th) will be cancelled, as well as classes on Monday, November 14th and Wednesday, November 16th.  Classes will resume with Zumba on Saturday, November 19th.

PARENTS, KIDS, AND MONEY MATTERS EVENT TONIGHT

Movies, advertisers, friends...they can all affect your kids' attitudes about life -- and money. Find out how to talk to them about influences, choices, and responsible money habits. Join us for a Parents, Kids, and Money Matters workshop held TONIGHT, Thursday, November 10th at 6:00 pm at Spies Library. This free educational workshop, designed for you and your child aged 6-10, will help you reflect on the values you want your kids to learn, teach your kids about money and values, and learn practical tools to make teaching about money fun. ADVENT LUNCHEON TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3RD

It's hard to believe we'll soon be in the Advent season.  This year's ladies' Advent Luncheon will take place on Saturday, December 3rd from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, and reservations are essential!  Tickets will be available starting this Sunday, November 6th in the foyer.  

This year’s special guest is speaker and author Trish Propson.  She will give us the good news that “The Answer Is Yes!” Trish is a wife and mother living in Kaukauna, Wisconsin plus she owns Cornerstone Communications Company, where she provides Marketing and Communication services to non-profit and ministry organizations, and start-up businesses. Her work has been published in Guideposts, The Healing Touch and Unexpected Answers. She is a contributing author for Bethany House with Dr. Gary Chapman on a devotional called Love is a Verb. She is also a community columnist for the Post Crescent, a Gannet Inc. publication. Her two-book Bible Study, Raising Little Women of God: A Discipleship Journey for Mothers and Daughters is now available.

The event also includes a delicious meal prepared by Leo and Patty Schernick and served by the North Shore men in festive surroundings.

IDOP (INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH)

Sunday, November 6th is the International Day of Prayer for the persecuted Church. Christians around the world are facing persecution in unprecedented numbers. To get a better understanding of the extreme cases of persecution Christians in other countries are currently facing, check out the World Watch List. During the 2016 International Day of Prayer, join in praying for the persecuted church. Pray that God will protect believers in persecuted countries. Pray that believers would see Christ in deeper ways. Lastly, pray that Christ would soften the hearts of their persecutors.

ZUMBA CLASS SCHEDULE CHANGE

Wednesday evening's Zumba class has now been moved to Wednesday mornings at 8:30 am, starting this Wednesday, November 9th.  For questions regarding the fitness classes at NSC, contact Kristine Aretz at 814.397.4769.

This Wednesday, November 9th, we will launch our new youth group night for both Senior High and Junior High at 6:00 pm! Sporos (Jr. High) means “seeds” in Greek, and Kairos (Sr. High) means “God’s time.” Youth, this is one night you won’t want to miss as we celebrate a new season of youth ministry.
