The Red Cross has recently escalated their need for blood from Urgent to CRITICAL. This is a result of the decline in donations during the summer while the need for blood has remained constant. With the 4th of July holiday approaching, they will continue to see a decline.
If you are interested in giving blood, there are a couple upcoming blood drives to be aware of. On July 9th, Bethel Lutheran Church on 14th Ave in Menominee will host one from 12 to 5 pm. There will be another on July 9th from 10 to 3 pm at Pine Tree Mall in Marinette. Donors are encouraged to call 1-800-red-cross or visit www.redcrossblood.org for appointments. Walk-ins are welcome. If ever these was a time to donate, this is the time. Every 2 seconds there is someone in need of blood. Thank you!
