Creator’s Hands February Newsletter

Creator’s Hands is dedicated to letting our light shine for Jesus as we use our God given crafting skills to knit, crochet, quilt to make handcrafted items, such as blankets, baby items, prayer shawls, etc for the purpose of fulfilling the needs of the community. We are dedicated toward making crafted items to give to others as an expression of God’s love! We hope that you can join us at our next meeting. 

We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 6:00-8:00 pm but the doors will be opened at 5:30 in the Fireside room. Anyone wishing to pray with MOMS IN PRAYER is invited to come to the library from 5:30-6:00 pm.

The Lifter of My Hand. “Father God, I praise You because You are a shield around me, O Lord; You bestow glory on me and lift up my head when I am weary or despised” (Ps. 3:3).

We welcomed Ruth Steppke to her first Creator’s Hands meeting. Her sister is interested in starting a craft ministry in her community. Ruth went home with several newsletters, labels, and enthusiasm to share with her sister. It is exciting to give “birth” to another group!

Mary Jean and Ruth were very busy preparing the burp cloths for BAMC. Diane delivered 26 burp cloths to the hospital for February. They have a plentiful supply right now.

Terri spent the night cutting out burp cloths and Judy took them home to complete. Terri also is interesting to crocheting around blankets after Diane puts the holes in it for her.

We are thankful we have another hand to help with blankets.

It was a nice surprise to find 6 completed mug rugs and a beautiful lap quilt which Micki had made and dropped them off. Judy sewed labels on them and the mug rugs went to the hospitality center. Diane gave Micki six more mug rugs to complete so the welcome center will be well stocked for a while.

Diane ordered 2000 labels. Last year when we ordered 1000 labels we thought that was way more than what we would use in a year! We stand AMAZED at what God has done using our talents that HE has given us!

Sharon requested a gift for a friend who is going through chemotherapy and radiation for lung cancer.. We appreciated all the mittens she has donated to Creator’s Hand. Please remember to pray for her. I will be delivering her the prayer shawl that Marcia knit soon.

MISSIONARY VISITING THIS SUNDAY!!

Carmen Chugg, our missionary with TEAM in Faenza, Italy is coming THIS SUNDAY, March 1st. 

She will be sharing about her ministry in Italy at 9:00 am in the Fireside Room.  

Please also take time after the service to connect with Carmen and find out in what way you can help support her in her ministry.

JOIN US IN 40 DAYS OF PRAYER

Prayer time is available for those who wish to join with others in the church to pray for needs of the those in the church and in our community.  

Prayer times are: Wednesday nights from 5:30pm-6:30pm and Sunday morning @ 9:00am.  

TAKE PART IN BABY BOTTLE BOOMERANG!

Take part in the annual Baby Bottle Boomerang!
All of the funds collected stay local to help assist women facing unplanned pregnancies through one of our local missions, Bay Area Pregnancy Services. 

It’s so easy to help:

FIRST, take one of the baby bottles on your way out of church today from the table in the foyer. 

SECOND, place the bottle in a visible place as a 
reminder.

THIRD, put in your change or cash until it’s full or include a check 
(payable to Bay Area Pregnancy Services)

FOURTH, return the bottle to the church office or 
Welcome Center.

FIFTH, take another bottle and start again and keep it going until Sunday, March 29th.

If you would like a receipt, please fill out the slip provided inside the bottle.

Growth Groups meet with the purpose of growing, encouraging, and equipping one another in our relationship with Jesus through the Word of God. 

Our intention is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the individuals in the group so that we can be strengthened to meet the needs of the church and community.

Please contact the church office if you are interested in being in a Growth Group.

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE!!!

Brian and Kathleen Knoll are going to be moving to Burlington, Iowa. North Shore will miss them, but we are excited to see what God has in store for them. 

If you are interested in helping them move, the dates and times of their move are:

Friday, February 20th anytime after noon
Saturday, February 21st starting at 9am until finished.

Pizza and beverages will be provided for the helpers on Saturday and then Pastor Travis Albrecht will send them off with a blessing.

FREE ZUMBA CLASS OFFERED THIS SATURDAY AT NORTH SHORE

If you are interested in taking a free Zumba class, please join us this Saturday, February 14th @ 9:00am in the gym at North Shore Church.  

MISSIONARY UPDATE!

Missionaries, Fran & Lori Derocher will be not be able to visit North Shore Next Sunday. 

In the Spring they will be leaving for Thailand where they will be helping children who are refugees from Burma. 

A special offering will be taken during NEXT SUNDAY’s church service to partner with them as the Lord is leading them to a new mission field with PARTNERS.

All Married couples and singles, you are invited to enjoy an evening out at Schloegel’s on February 13th
from 6:00-8:00pm.

Let’s celebrate marriage, God’s love for us, and encourage one another while connecting over dinner. 

*THIS SUNDAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKET! 

Cost: $40 per couple.

*Babysitting is available at church for $5 extra.
Please drop off your children at 5:30pm.

(Please make sure your children have dinner
beforehand.  There will be a light healthy snack and entertainment)

Cost for the dinner includes: A choice of Salmon, rice, tossed salad, dinner roll, and drink or Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner roll, and drink.

Creator’s Hands #25

January 20, 2015

King of Kings and Lord of Lords. “All honor and praise be to You, my God, the Blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light” (1 Tim. 6:15).

We continued to make burp cloths for BAMC. Judy cut and pinned, Diane sewed, and Mary Jean packaged the completed ones from the last meeting. Judy and Diane each took home around ten to finish. We will have thirty burp cloths for our February goal!

Since Diane spoke in church, we have received 3 bags of fiberfill and quite a bit of satin blanket binding. Someone is going to donate a portable sewing machine and yarn!!

Marcia and Diane were able to give Gail Jerzyk a blanket while she was a patient at Rennes. At her funeral her husband, Earl, expressed his gratitude for the blanket from Creator’s Hands. It was her favorite because the church remembered her and it brought her great comfort. What a privilege it is to serve God in this ministry!

Barb and Sharon are enjoying their warm winter weather. Both of them are busy using their crafting skills. Barb requested more labels…..she has made 50 burp cloths and has about 70-80 cut out and ready to sew!!!! How does she do that????? Sharon has been active in her sewing guild making many blankets and items for babies. We look forward to seeing them again.

Elaine is going to be moving to Wyoming to be by her other daughter later this month. We appreciate all the beautiful hats she has made but she said she will continue to make baby hats and mail them to us. Awesome! The nurse at the hospital said they were perfect and the mothers love them!
